For cutting-edge aesthetic skin treatments, Big Island Family Medicine carries the Viora V-IPL laser. This state-of-the-art technology uses a unique PCR (PulseConfiguRhythm) system to deliver effective skin treatments to patients of any skin type.
The PCR Difference
PCR technology introduces flexibility and versatility into the aesthetic treatments that the V-IPL laser can perform. PCR involves three different pulse configurations, which can be customized to fit each patient:
- Single: This simplest form of laser pulse is best suited for patients with light skin.
- Multiple: In this configuration, the laser pulse is divided into three sub-pulses separated by two delays. This allows the targeted area of skin to cool down between pulses, while heat is still retained beneath the skin. This approach is best for patients with medium-toned skin.
- Rapid: Here, a series of short and low fluence pulses are administered, enabling the targeted tissue to heal while avoiding injury of the surrounding tissue. This configuration is best for dark-skinned patients who cannot be treated with typical IPL (Intense Pulse Light) technology.
What the Viora V-IPL Laser Can Do
The Viora V-IPL is perfect for treating vascular lesions, pigmented lesions, and acne, as well as hair removal and general skin rejuvenation.
If you are experiencing hypo- or hyperpigmentation, which are spots of color on your skin either lighter or darker than your normal skin tone, the Viora V-IPL laser can help erase these spots by stimulating the production of collagen, filling in the targeted area with new skin.
